Hope you guys can help. I just used SMS 2003 to send out Office Professional
Plus 2007. But something is very odd, as I can’t seem to find the software
via an SMS query. Because of an issue with how the software went out, I
can’t rely on the Advertisement status messages. Software Inventory has been
on all the clients, so the data is there.
I am trying to query machines I have confirmed to have it installed. I
tried ‘Add/Remove Display Name’ as ‘Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007’
like it appears in everyone’s Add/Remove programs Results are returned, but
the # of machines reported is far below what it should. I’m not convinced
100%. The only seemingly accurate results I get are querying by filename and
version (i.e. EXCEL.EXE, Ver. 12.0.*). But I know this probably isn’t the
best way to do it and I am rather uncomfortable with this.
I also queried Add/Remove Programs Display Name= ‘2007 Office System’, but
this returns results that I know do not have O2K7 Pro Plus. People got
Project Pro 2007 installed a few months ago, and I think it’s showing as
‘2007 Microsoft Office System’ when running a query because of this?
Can anyone tell me what is the exact, bullet proof query to run for MS
Office 2007 Pro Plus?
