Cannot read text with .wps extension

L

Littlefellows

Created some text documents in a PC running Windows XP Home. It has
Microsoft Works 6.0 installed. All the text documents created in this
PC have a .wps extension.

Trying to copy info (using a floppy disk) to another PC running Windows
95C. It has Microsoft Works 4.5 as well as Microsoft Word 2000. Every
time an attempt is made to use either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works
to read any of the documents, all that comes up is a group of small
squares and symbols. Absolutely nothing legible.

Any ideas as to how to get the text to read?

Thanks in advance.

Well, don't try to open any kind of file in Word directly from a floppy, as
that's one of the easiest ways to corrupt it; copy it to the HD first. As
for Works, please post in microsoft.public.works.win.
