Cannot read word files.....etc.

Ever since a re-install of windows and all office progs. icannot read any
word, excel files, or view any pictures that I recently saved to a disc
prior to install. I keep getting a message that tells me I need a Text
Converter to read them. I have tried everything that is possible but to no
avail. Does anyone know anything else. Cheers Kev.

Have you confirmed that the files are OK by checking them on another
computer? They may have been corrupted when you transferred them.

It seems unlikely that all Office applications and your graphics viewer are
all broken - so the files are the most obvious problem.
