Cannot reinstall Outlook 2007

It's been a day and night of trial. Every time I opened Outlook 2007
yesterday -- which has been running well for months -- it crashed. I searched
the Internet and made sure all programs associated with problems in the past,
such as Skype and Acrobat, were updated. The I uninstalled them in the hopes
that would work. I scanned with Ad-Aware and BitDefender and deleted all TMP
files. I finally gave up and decided I might as well uninstall the program
and reinstall it.

Uninstalling Outlook only (leaving Word, Excel and Powerpoint) was not a
problem. But when I went to reinstall Outlook with my Office 2007 Upgrade
version, it says "The path you have chosen does not point at a qualifying
upgradable product."

I am using the same Office 2007 Professional disk for verification that I
used in the original installation. No luck. So I tried my husband's, who has
exactly the same programs, computer and setup. No luck. Today he brought home
a full version of Office 2003 from the office and we tried using that for
verification. Still won't work.

And now it's Typhoon Signal 8 in Hong Kong and all the Microsoft folks have
fled the office on a Friday afternoon, so I'm stuck.

I've done the Knowledge Base, searched the world, and I seem to be the only
one this has ever happened to.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

A 10 on speed of reply... but less than 10 on content. :)

"nunnie" wrote: hahaha! my first time posting in here so it went to the other post...oops! I posted my "uninstall question last night" but I found the answer by
surprise (clicking on Icons etc) so I am presently uninstalling MS Office
suites Trial from my laptop
until I purchase it in the near future. What I found was interesting? I had
to take my Windows Vista out of Classic View in the Control Panel and try the
uninstall..change..and repair prompts. Amazing! the following was
happening..If you have Windows Vista change it back from Classic View by
clicking on your Classic View to see only your Vista view...It should show
"Control Panel-Programs-Programs and Features" then you will see uninstall,
change a program, or repair...proceed from there...If this does not help then
please so as I will have to in case it still does not "uninstall" get a Tech
or someone who knows how to help from our discussion forum or contact
Microsoft Tech via chat or email.... :)

Thanks for the help -- and the reminder I should have mentioned my OS...
it's Windows XP SP2.

Now I'll go play with my menu system. I'll try anything.
