Cannot remove reocuring appointment

Whenever I try and delete the reminder I get the following pop-up message
"Cannot turnoff the reminder. you may be reminded again. The end date you
entered occurs before the start date"

I've tried to locate the appointment but cannot find it
I just want to delete this reminder - never to be seen again

Running Vista
Microsoft 2007
