Cannot resize a simple table in Word!!!

please someone help before i tear my hair out....

i am trying to resize a table in word, and the double headed arrow will
NOT appear when i bring my mouse to the lower right hand corner of the
table. what is up??? i cann't figure it out for the life of me and i
cannot resize my table.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Your table is most likely InLine.. Go into Table>Properties & apply
Wrapping - the option reads as 'Around' if I remember correctly.

Don't have an answer for you yet, but do have a few questions:
- Which version of Word are you working with?
- If you create a new, blank document and insert a new table, does the
resize handle display?
- The table you're having problems with, is it a big table? Does it fill up
an entire page? Do any of the table rows break across the page break?
- Go to the Tools menu. Is 'Unprotect Document' listed?
