Cannot resolve address with contacts folders

I installed Outlook 2002(XP) over an existing Outlook version that was a part
of my Office2000 program when I acquired an HP IPAG pocket PC. Since then I
have never been able to properly sync the Contacts portion of Outlook2002
with the IPAQ. I believe that this is due to the configuration of Outlook
contacts. When I open the Address Book from the Outlook, tools, options menu
and click on the Address Book – tools, options, keep personal addresses in:
there is no option for “Outlook Address Bookâ€, just contacts, business,
local, etc. - which includes some of my custom folders that show as
sub-folders under “Contacts†in Outlook Personal Folders. The “address bookâ€
still seems to be my email address source, but it is not necessarily linked
to the Contacts folders in Outlook. How can I resolve this?

Make sure the Outlook Address Book is cleanly installed in your mail
profile. Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or
address books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book and click Remove. Click
OK. Stop and restart Outlook. Add the OAB service back in. Tools>E-mail
Accounts>Add a directory or address book>Next>Additional Address
Books>Outlook Address Book>Next, select the sort order, Finish. Stop and
restart Outlook.

Make sure all the contacts folders you want to appear in the address book
are enabled to appear. Right-click, choose Properties, click the Outlook
Address Book tab, and check the box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail
Address Book". Click OK.
