Cannot run office in Snow Leopard

I have been trying to get office to run under snow leopard and have not had any luck. It just hangs with" optimizing fonts..". I have tried verifying my fonts and disk permissions but it still hangs. The only way I get it to run is in safe mode. Any thoughts?

Since Snow Leopard introduced new fonts, you need to clear font caches and
run Font Book repair to get rid of duplicate fonts. These are the new fonts
in Snow Leopard:

Andale Mono
Arial
Arial Black
Arial Narrow
Arial Rounded Bold
Brush Script.ttf
Comic Sans MS
Georgia
Impact
Tahoma
Times New Roman
Trebuchet MS
Verdana
Wingdings 2
Wingdings 3

Quit Entourage. Delete these files in Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Caches.
Restart Entourage.

com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
tasmanbrowser.cache

If the above does not work, check for corrupt font caches. These can easily
be cleared from the system with Font Finagler. Download and run the
application. First click the "Inspect Font Cache Files" button, then the
"Clean Font Cache Files" button. You must then restart your Mac. Other
utilities that can clear your font caches are Cocktail, FontNuke and OnyX.
(Since many of the utilities don't yet work in Snow Leopard you might have
to do this manually.)

I'm having Permissions issues with Font Finagler. I hope we'll soon get
an update for Snow Leopard :-\

Same thing with Onyx, etc.
The only application I know that can clear the cache for you in Snow
Leopard is TinkerTool System.

FYI, I also manually deactivated Bauhaus 93. The font is not duplicated
but I had two applications telling me the font had issues and I didn't
want to take *any* chance.

The list of fonts from /Library/Fonts/Microsoft I deactivated is
therefore:
Andale Mono
Arial
Arial Black
Arial Narrow
Arial Rounded Bold
Bauhaus 93
Brush Script.ttf
Comic Sans MS
Georgia
Impact
Tahoma
Times New Roman
Trebuchet MS
Verdana
Wingdings 2
Wingdings 3

I got the same error so I deleted it.

I deleted rather than deactivate. I saw reports where they would be
activated again for some users. Seems Leopard and Snow Leopard have trouble
remembering some preferences and or sticking like glue to others.

Deactivating through Font Book seems to still lead to issues.
Deactivating by manually moving to a non-standard location is fine since
the System doesn't pick it up anymore.
I like using this approach. Less "definitive" if you see what I mean :)
