Cannot save change to asian typography setting

Layla

There is a problem with my word 2007 where whenever I choose a custom setting
for the 'first and last character setting' for Asian typography, it is not
saved and convert back to the standard setting after I close and re-open the
file.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Layla,

Did you first save the file at least once before making the change?

Which language is enabled and do you have some text in that language selected when you change the option setting?

Are you removing or adding or replacing the string?

After making the change type at least one character then backspace before saving and closing to see if that makes a difference.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I did save the file before and after changing the setting and everything I
typed are saved without a problem except that the Typography setting convert
back to the standard. The language enabled is Chinese (Taiwan)

I don't really understand what you mean by am I removing or adding or
replacing the string. What does the string stand for?

And typing then backspacing a character does not help either. >_<

Oh I guess I know what you mean by 'the string'. I am trying to delete the
list so that I can start and end the line with certain punctuation. =)

Hi Layla,

Do you have any Add-ins running in Word 2007? Do you have Service Pack 1 installed? I'm not having any trouble deleting and then
adding in a new set of 'can't start/end' with characters in
Office Button=>Word Options=>Typography
when I specific the name of the current document.

Do you have other languages turned in through
Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office=>Microsoft Office Tools=>Language settings?
