After upgrading an application on my client's workstation I had to delete
the normal.dot due to corruption. After I did this it now created a
normal.dot template in a template folder located on a network share. I
tried to repath the template folder path in Options in Word but it keeps
looking at this network version (repathed user and workgroup templates).
The problem with that is apparently other workstation also have a similar
problem so more than one workstation is using this network version of the
normal.dot. Since multiple wksts are using this template it is locked from
saving changes and any template changes are reverted back to default on
startup. Is there anyway I can force this workstation to point to a locate
normal.dot but also have a network template path for other templates. Is
there maybe a registry setting i can override?
thanks
