Cannot save stationary

When I try to create and save custom stationary, I get an error message that
says "The section name specified already exists. Please select another
section name." This happens even if I put something which clearly isn't the
name of a section, folder or stationary in my notebook, even gibberish like
"a;sdlhglas;hgl;ash". Has anyone else seen this happen before?

John,

I haven't seen the problem you describe.

Just for clarity, is the error message that you get actually "The
stationery 'XXXX' already exists. Do you want to replace it?"

Or does the error message really mention "section name"?

Thanks

The error message reads "The section name you specified already exsts. Use a
different section name."

Thanks.

It's an error message I have never seen. When I deliberately tried to
reproduce your problem the error message I received was as I described
to you.

Have you tried the Detect and Repair option from the Help menu?

It would be useful to have a fuller description of exactly what steps
you take before you see the error. With that information we can have
another look at the problem.

And can you also specify which version of OneNote you are running and
on which platform?

Thanks

The version is just regular OneNote SP1. The last major thing I did before
this happened was I tried to add stationary (specfically planners) from the
OneNote community site.

OK. You don't say if you tried the Detect and Repair option.

I was asking you to set out the exact steps that you take to provoke
the error message that you stated occurred. If I try to emulate what I
*guessed* you were doing I get a different error message.

Care to try again with a more detailed step by step description of
exactly how to reproduce the error message on your system?

Thanks.

I tried the Detect and Repair option, and it did not work.

To create the error message,, using the drop down stationary menu on the
"New Page" tab, I select the "more options" option. From the Stationary task
panel, I select "Save current page as stationary". Then when I fill in the
information in the dialouge, no matter what it is, I get the error message
when I hit "Ok".

John,

Sorry. I don't have any more suggestions on this one.

Maybe one of the Microsoft folk who monitor the list will have a
suggestion or two.
