Cannot see .cgm pics in Word 2003

Hi there!

We just migrated to Word 2003 Sp1 from Word 2000. Now, we have problems with
docs that contain .cgm pics, they just don´t show up.

Cgm-graphic filter is there as it was in word 2000 and we can get the test
image from it.

We have 'drawing' checked and 'picture placeholder' unchecked.

If we use file-web page preview, we can see all pictures. The cgm-files are
exported the same way as when we had word 2000.

Hi Andreas,

You installed the .FLT for CGM from the
conversions set that Mary pointed to?

If you start a new document and
use Insert=>Picture>From File
and while in that dialog use the 'preview'
view do you see the CGM graphics correctly
in the preview?

Does the CGM then show in Word in Print Layout
view and in File=>Web Page Preview?

Hi Bob!

Yes, the .flt for cgm was installed.

I can not see the .cgm file in the "Insert picture - file" preview mode.


I can see it in Web page preview but not in Print Layout

Finaly, I got an answer, after placing a case at Microsoft Support...

This is an confirmed bug in at least word 2003 and powerpoint 2003. A fix is
being worked on but no release date is set.

The case id was SRZ041123002199
