Cannot see resource in Project Server Web Access

JZapin

I am running MS Project Server 2002.

I have a resource that can be seen in Admin | Manage Users but cannot
be seen under "Resource Center". (I also cannot see the user within
MS Project Professional 2002 | Open Enterprise Resource Pool...I
assume the two are related).

I should also add that the user has the EXACT same rights/groups as
another user that CAN be seen?

Any thoughts or other questions that might debug the problem?

Thanks.

The user needs to be added to the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this
helps.

Thanks for the reply.

How do you add a user to the Enterprise Resource Pool? Is it through
MS Project Pro (2002) or MS Project Server?

Thanks.

Log into Project Server through Microsoft Project Professional using an
account with administrator permissions. Click Tools - Enterprise Options -
Open Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, I'm still not seeing some of the resources that I added
through Project Server.

Perhaps it will make more sense if I explain exactly the steps I took:
1) Log into MS Project Server (through MS Project Web Access)
2) Click on Admin in the top nav
3) Click on Manage Users and Groups
4) Click on "Add User"
5) Created a new Admin User
6) Save the User
7) Click on Resources in the Resource Center. Issue #1: Do not see
the added resource in the list
8) Go into MS Project Professional.
9) Open Enterprise Resources. Issue #2: Do not see the added resource
in the list.

I hope this better explains what I did wrong.

Thanks.

As I stated in my previous post, you must add the resource to the Enteprise
Resource Pool through Microsoft Project Professional. Simply adding them as
a resource in Project Web Access will not solve your problem. Hope this
helps.

The problem with this suggestion is that the resource doesn't even
appear in the list when I open up "Enterprise Resource Pool."

Is there a way that I can get a resources added through "Admin" to
appear in the list so I can "add" them?

Let me know.

Thanks.

In order to create this resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool, do the
following:

1. Log into Project Server through Microsoft Project Professional using
administrator permissions
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool
3. Select no resources and click the Open/Add button
4. Enter the resource on the first blank line of the Resource Sheet, along
with other relevant information about this resource
5. Double-click the resource's name
6. Enter their Windows User account in the Windows Account field
7. Set any custom field values on the Custom Fields page
8. Click OK
9. Save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool

If you enter resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool first, Project Server
will automatically create user accounts for them in Project Web Access.
Hope this helps.
