Cannot send email from form

D

Dave Lagergren

I have spent the last 3 hours searching the web for an answer to this
problem. I have a website with a variety of forms that allow the visitor to
fill in and send information. I added a new test form that can send the
information to a .txt file with no problem. As soon as I add an email
address to the Form Properties and publish the page I get the error
"[FrontPage Save Results Component]". The other existing pages give messages
like "Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:

The site is http://wirelessmgt.com and the test page is email_page.htm.

FP extensions have been re-installed. I have re-calculated all hyperlinks.
My ISP claims everything is set correctly.

Has your web host actually configured the forms to email transport in the
extensions? That's another step in addition to just having the extensions
installed.

Thanks for the quick reply. The ISP we are stuck with (for the moment) is
unfamiliar with FP and unwilling to learn. I forwarded your solution to him
and we'll see if he can correct the issue.

Is this anything we could possibly do from the Control Panel our ISP gives
us? We can Edit FPE and re-install etc. from there...

You web host has not configured the FPSE to process email from forms.

FYI: You web host should also configure your web site to be accessible via
http://www.wirelessmgt.com as well as http://wirelessmgt.com

You must have admin access to the server or the web host must do the configuration.

Not unless the host has given you admnistrative access to the server.
They'll have to do it.
