Cannot Send Emails

P

My outlook 2003 is trying to send two emails that are a) not in my outbox
and, b) were never created or sent by me. I don't know what these emails
are, but they will not actually send. Whenver I turn Outlook on the status
bar says, "Sending message 1 of 2". The emails never seem to actually send,
but Outlook won't send my legitimate emails either. When I create an email
it goes in to the Outbox and stays there until I delete it. Outlook never
seems to timeout with the Sending 1 of 2 message, but nothing seems to happen
either. I have double checked the smtp settings and they are correct. I use
Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security, but I have Norton Anti-Spam
turned off. Any help is appreciated.
