Cannot send from Outlook 2007

My send function stopped working. My e-mails are just sitting in the Outbox
and going nowhere.

I've tried everything to reduce the size of the .pst file to no avail.

New user of 2007 from 2002, loaded it yeasterday.

Any ideas?

Yes, I upgraded from 2002 to 2007 yesterday.

I finally just got it figured out. It kept telling me my .pst file was too
big and I needed to delete unwanted files or folders. I went through and cut
and sliced as much as I could and archived the best I could.

Still no-go.

I then discovered that 2007 uses a different .pst file format that the
existing 2002 .pst is not automatically imported into. I needed to create my
own new data file, export the existing Personal Folders file to a
destination, change the default to the newly created data file and then
manually import the old .pst into the new.

There was no mention of this anywhere in any of the data or instructions I
looked at. This was extremely frustrating and if I didn't have some
experience in diddling with .pst files would have been totally lost. As it
was, I lost a morning's worth of working on a hot project and became useless
since I could not respond to e-mail flurries.

I also have an HP printer driver incompatibility with Word 2007 that causes
it to abort. "HP knows about this and is working on it" I'm told. Yeah right,
two years later and nothing? No new drivers on HP's website.

Anyway, back to work.

Did you compact the PST after deleting and archiving? Its size won't go down
until you do.

Thats NOT what you want to do.
In Data File Management create a new data file, the default will be the new
unicode format. Set this as your default msg store.
Backin Oultook Folder Tree View you will have two sets of Personal Folders,
one being your new mainly empty set. Copy data from the old set to the new
as required - a simple drag & drop will work
