cannot set Legal size as Outlook Express 6.00 printer default

I use only Legal size paper and have been unable to get
my version of Outlook Express (6.00.2800.1123) to accept
anything but Letter size as the default paper size. When
the printer box comes up after I select print, I always
have to go to Advanced Settings to change the paper size
to Legal. "Legal" will not stay as the default when I
close out the program. I can see no way to get it to stay
as the default. Can anyone help?
