Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window.

"outlook 2003 will no longer open. unable to open the outlook window. the
set of folders could not be opened. the server is not available. contact
your administrator if this condition persists."

This occured suddenly, after no changes of any kind to other software,
drivers, etc.

i have tried detect and repair. i did it from the control panel and also
from the installation disc.

is there any way to corrrect this?

Tried opening outlook in safe mode?
Run
outlook.exe /safe

Tried running the inbox repair tool, scanpst.exe on your data file?
Run it several times if it reports/fixes an error

what is the inbox repair tool? Can't get into outlook for any of those
features.
went to control panel/add remove software/repair

also installed original disk and choose 'repair'

both functions ran but did not report any errors, just said completed.

tell me what is scanpst.exe and how to run it on the data file.

Run
Outlook.exe /safe (Note space between exe /)

The Inbox repair tool being scanpst.exe, you dont run it within outlook, in
exlorer search to include hidded for scanpst.exe
