Cannot turn off auto preview

We upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2002.

Unread messages in the inbox now appear in auto preview.
After reading the message, it goes to normal.

When we turn auto preview off and go to another folder, we
find it on when returning to the inbox.

Any response would be helpful.

Try starting Outlook once with the /CleanViews switch. If you need help
using Outlook command line switches, look here:

Note -- this will delete ALL custom views. If you have any you'd like to
back up first, check

instructions (it's not a quick process, but it may be worth it to you...).
