Cannot uninstall Office2K cause can't find original CD

I had to reinstall the OS, Windows 2K, on a PC that has Office 2K installed
on it. Some of the registry setting must be hosed cause it runs the
installer everytime I open an Office product. If I try to uninstall Office2K
is asks for the original CD, which I cannot seem to find. I did upgrade to
OfficeXP, but the Add/Remove in Control Panel still shows Office 2k is
installed. The question is how can you uninstall Office when it insists on
the original install CD?
TIA

You can contact MS for a replacement media:

If it's an OEM copy (provided with the PC) you
may need to contact that PC supplier for the media.

Hope this helps.

Hi Larry,

If the installation is intact you can uninstall
Office 2000 or later from Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows control panel. If it's damaged, it
can be more involved

That is one possibility, but is a time consuming process and does not answer
the question posed. How can I get Windows to uninstall Office if I do not
have the CD on hand? >>
