Cannot view 2 pages in Print Preview

I have a 2.5 MB Word doc. in which the "view 2 pages" function of Print
Preview does not work. This function works in other files and the other
multiple-page selections in that file work. Does anyone know what the
problem/bug is and how to fix it? I find it much more useful to preview 2
pages at once.
Thx,

When you say it doesn't work, what happens? Does Word crash? Does the screen
go blank? What...?

Also, what version of Word are you using?

I do not get a crash - Word simply refuses to show two pages, showing one
instead. I did find a workround, though. I changed to 2x2-page view (which
the preview pane accommodated), then increased the percentage to 75%. That
yielded 1x2-page view.

Sorry that I neglected to say that this is Word 2003 (11.8026.8036) SP2 on
XP.

Plz see my comments to H. Tyson. Thx to both of you for following up w/me.
No, I do not have section breaks in the document yet. This is a fairly large
doc. and its org. will change, so I actually have no page or section breaks
in it yet. I've found in the past that it is safer to go this route.

But to your question - surely Word's print preview doesn't rely on the
presence of section breaks?

I was suggesting that maybe you had section breaks at the ends of the pages
as these will force Word to start on the next odd page - so there are no
even pages to view. However, this does not seem to be these case here.

Does this happen for all documents or just this one document? If so, have
you tried File, Open, select the file and then use Open and Repair?

Even if this were the case, Word would display the blank even page; indeed,
that's the one way to force Word to display it.

True. I was completely off beam there.

Thx to you both for your responses. To answer the question about whether this
problem is happening is some or all doc's, it happens in only some of my
doc's. I have to admit, it seems to be only documents that come from what I
would call a "suspect" source, in that they show evidence of corruption
(including template corruption).

Still, I would think that the Print Preview function would not be document
or template dependent. At any rate, my workaround works very well and is only
a tiny inconvenience, so for now I'm happy. (Workaround being to select 1x4
pages, then change the percentage of the view to 75%). In thinking about that
for a min., I realize that the 1x4 selection gives me a 1x2 view at the 1x4
percentage. Very strange. The views that work include single, 2x2, 1x6, and
2x6 -very strange indeed!
