I have a database that has workgroup security, and is
shared on a network drive. Everyone can use data, change
and save tables and queries, but not even the admin can
change and save a report or form unless I am the only user
in the DB. CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME BEFORE I LOOSE IT!!!! :)

With Access 2K and later, you need exclusive access to be able to re-design
and save the Access Objects.

Thus, in a multi-user database, you should (must, really) split the database
to Front-End and Back-End. The Back-End only contains Tables and reside on
a network share. The Front-End contains all other Access Objects and each
user should have a copy of the Front-End on his/her desktop. This way, you
can modify your copy of the Front-End whenever you need to. When the update
is completed, you can distribute the updated Front-End to users. Tony Toews
has a utility to help with "automatic" distribution as well.

Splitting the database also reduces the chances of database getting
corrupted also.

Thanks, I've been beating myself up over this, but you
said 2k and higher. What about '97?

Mr. Dinh,

You wrote "Tony Toews has a utility to help with "automatic" distribution as
well."

Would you please share with me Tony Toews' utility?

Cheers,
Henry
