Can't add a chart to a PowerPoint slide

D

Darlene Niebruegge

When one of our users tries to add a chart to her PowerPoint slide, she gets
the error message (#1309) that says that there is an error reading from file
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ART\PFiles\MSOffice\Office\CONVTEXT.EXE.
We tried reinstalling PowerPoint, and that didn't resolve her problem.

Any idea why she would be getting this error? (My PowerPoint works fine.)

Thanks. -- Darlene

I don't have such a file on my system and I have PowerPoint 97, 2000, 2002, and
2003 installed. Have you typed the path correctly?

Sonia, I don't have that file on my computer either. This message just pops
up when the other person tries to add a chart in her PowerPoint slide. It's
very strange.

Thanks for your response.

It would appear that she does not have the same installation of Office as the
rest of you. The CONVTEXT.EXE file is discussed at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP052626761033.aspx. She
apparently has "right-to-left" support installed (Hebrew, Arabic, etc.)

I'm afraid that I can't help much beyond that. You might try the Arabic and/or
Hebrew PowerPoint newsgroups.
