can't add a profile

I changed my hard drive and eded up with dup pst files which corrupted my
email profile. I deleted my default profile and now my computer won't allow
me to add a default profile. when I click on the add button my computer just
sits with the screen unchanged for maybe 15 min and then the mail profile
screen just goes away,
