Can't add a signature to my e-mails; can't send links

I just upgraded to Office XP and I'm having two problems
1. When I create a new e-mail, there is no button or menu option that allows me to add one of my signatures. Previously the "Insert" menu had a "Signature" option, but now all the menus are identical to Word, and there's no such option
2. When I try to send a link from IE by mail, it erases it, saying it is an unsafe attachment! I have to manually copy-paste the link, and even then it gives me a message that "you are sending an unsafe attachment." Outlook also erases all attachments in incoming emails that aren't Office or ZIP files. Is there any way to prevent this

Thanks

1. You need to create an email signature in Word - it will not use your
Outlook signatures if you use Word as the message editor. Ask the Office
Assistant or F1 help.

2. You have run into the enhanced security for Outlook - you need to
copy/paste the URL into the message body to send it by mail and have it
arrive intact.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the
Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted
w/out reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer
