Cant add contacts

I have a weird problem. I am part of a large network and
I am unable to add my personal contacts to my contact
list. I get this error: "you cannot create entries for
this address book" It doesn't matter which list I try to
use.
Sure hope someone can help me. I use distribution lists
and don't know how to find them.

List the steps you are using.
It sounds as if you are trying to add entries to the address book view.
That's not how Outlook works. It has no address book. Always add to the
Contacts Folder.
