Can't add word to dictionary

K

Ken J.

Good day. I tried to add the word allness to my dictionary, and got a message
saying "The word allness cannot be added to the custom dictionary. Either
this word contains characters which the spelling checker cannot handle or the
dictionary is full." I think it's the first word I've tried to add since
using this computer for the last month, so I don't understand how the
dictionary could be full.

I had written the word and tried to convert the handwriting. When I didn't
get any matches, I figured the word wasn't in the dictionary. So I typed the
word. It showed the red underline, so I right clicked the word and chose add
to dictionary.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like you're on a Tablet PC, so I would suggest using the Dictionary
Tool for Tablet PC, available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/tabletpc.mspx You
can use it to import your Office dictionary (Office 2003 versions) and also
input new words which are then shared between speech and the Tablet Input
Panel. The TIP "add" tool doesn't work very well.
