Can't attach photos to email

I had to replace all of my computer except the hard drive. Then I had to
replace/repair Windows XP and download all updates including SP2.

Since then, I can't attach Microsoft Word 2002 documents to email, nor can I
attach Adobe Photoshop Elements 2002 photographs to email.

Any suggestions as to what could be causing the problem? Thank you in
advance for your help.

What happens when you try?

Depending on which program I'm using I'll get the following error messages,
Brian:

Adobe Photoshop Elements error message:
It is necessary to log on or establish an e-mail account within your
mail program before you
can attach to e-mail.

Microsoft Word error message:
Logon failed. You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access your
address book. Error code: "Unspecified error".

State the exact steps needed to reproduce, like "Start Outlook, click
New>Message, click Insert, ..."

OK, Brian. Within Word and with a document open I click on File > Send To >
Mail Recipient (as attachment). It's at that point that I get the "Logon
failed......" message.

Just to make sure, are your versions of Word and Outlook identical? Have
you configured Outlook so that it works properly by itself? Have you tried
Help>Detect and Repair in either Word or Outlook? Have yuo tried a new mail
profile?

Brian,

It's Word 2002, SP3 which used to work just fine with my OE 6. I performed
a Help > Detect > Repair on Word but OE doesn't have that option. Outlook
works fine by itself. What sort of mail profile are you talking about? I
don't see that anywhere.

You said that already, but you still haven't stated your Outlook version.

Of course not. Outlook Express is not part of Office.

I think you're confusing Outlook (part of the Office suite) with Outlook
Express, a completely different program despite its similar name. Outlook
Express is part of Internet Explorer and it's off-topic for this newsgroup.
