Can't change default font

D

Dave

I created a customized template from the Professional Letter template, which
has Arial as the default font. I want to leave the heading in Arial, but
change the default font in the main body to Times New Roman. I followed the
procedure in the Help menu but it doesn't work - Arial keeps popping up in
the main body. Thanks for any help. Dave

Dave, I assume you are successfully saving the changes and that the template
is not read only. And, of course, you are working within the affected
document not in your own normal.dot.

This way works for me and I'm sure it's basically what Help is recommending:

1. Place cursor on text in the body of document that you expect to be
controlled by the "Normal" style.
2. Ctrl-shift-S
3. Normal should be the style in the Styles window.
4. Click modify
5. Check automatically update.
6. Change font to Times Roman
7. Click ok
8. Click Apply
9. Go back and uncheck automatically update
10. Save doct

By all rights, that should do it.
