Hi:
Using Word 2003, I can't change the default opening view from Normal
to Print Layout on most documents.
Standard behavior is to change the view on the doc (Normal --> Print
Layout or vice versa) then save the doc. When you reopen the doc, it
will be in the last-saved view mode. That works for me with a test
doc I just created. So I know the basic functionality is OK. There
is no Allow starting in Reading Layout problem here (which in any case
is unchecked). In addition, normal.dot is set to open by default on a
new file in Print Layout mode. So far, so good.
But in existing documents that open in Normal mode, this change mode -
save - reopen operation doesn't work. The documents continue to
reopen in Normal mode, in spite of my changing to Print Layout and
saving them. (Can't change to Web Layout either).
Any help with this would be appreciated.
