Hi, I'm working with a document that uses the Outline function in Word 2002.
When I open the individual subdocuments, I can change the styles (Heading 1,
Heading 2, etc.) just fine, but when I expand the subdocuments from the
master doc into one big document, I can't access the styles in some of the
subdocuments. The Style drop-down menu just grays over. (This causes me
problems when I convert the entire doc to PDF, as it can't read the headings
to convert them to bookmarks.) I notice that the subdocuments that are
causing problems have a "lock" icon next to them when they're expanded in
Outline View, while the others do not (if collapsed, all of the subdocuments
naturally have the "lock" icon). Can anyone please shed any light? Thanks!
