Can't change Word Art from italics

Something has happened to my computer. Things are appearing in italics when
they shouldn't be. In Word, when I try Word Art - everything ends up in
italics. When I try to click on the italic button - nothing happens. (The
same thing happens in Publisher.) It happens with all fonts. I have tried
changing the template - no luck. (By the way, this is happening elsewhere.
On web sites that I visit, parts of the page - some headings - appear in
italics - but ONLY on this computer. ) Does the computer have some type of
template that was changed? Please help!

Based on how wide-spread the problem seems to be it's most probably a
Windows issue - quite likely a corrupt/damaged or missing font file. You may
get a more prompt reply if you post to one of the groups that caters to your
specific version of Windows - try to identify what font(s) are involved.
