Can't close Word 2007

B

Bill

Whenever I try to exit Word 2007 I get a message that Wor has stopped working
and is searching for a solution. The the message "A problem caused the
progeam to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify
you if a solution is available"

The 'solution' states that "The problem was caused by Microsoft office
system software" and refers me to an update that I have already installed and
a diagnosis tool I have already tried. Neither help.

Is there a known solution for this annoying mess?

Usual culprits are:

1. Corrupted Normal.dotm (rename or delete)

2. Corrupted registry entry (usually
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word; rename or delete)

3. Misbehaving add-in (try turning all add-ins off, then add them back one
at a time to try to determine which one is causing the problem).

Oddly enough, the same problems that prevent Word from closing properly can
also prevent it from opening properly. So, for more information on how
troubleshooting, try here:

HP PRINTER DRIVER IS THE CAUSE

Bill,
I have had the same problem with both Word and PowerPoint. In my case it is
definitely caused by the HP printer driver. Make the XPS driver the default
and then select the HP driver when you want to print.
AND COMPLAIN TO HP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR! HP NEEDS TO FIX
THIS PROBLEM.
