Can't Compile PowerPoint code

I am trying to build a PowerPoint Add-In. When I try
to "Save As" file type "Add-In", I get the following error
message: "PowerPoint couldn't compile the Visual Basic for
Applications code associated with the presentation." with
no further explanation.
