Word 2002 is installed on my computer running XP with all updates, including
SP2. I just instlled Word 2003 but had problems with 2002.
When I would click on Start->Microsoft Word, I would get the following error
message: "(null) is not a valid Win32 application." If I went in My
Documents and clicked on a file produced by Word, nothing happened. (Of
course, now they are coming up with Word 2003.)
Now, when I go into the Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and attempt
to 'Remove' Word 2002, I get the error message: "This patch package could not
be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it,
or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows
Installer patch package."
So, I'm stuck and asking for advice onhow to proceed with the removal of
Word 2002. I originally loaded it from Microsoft Works Suite 2003. Now, now
to remove it?...
Thanks in advance,
Mike
