Can't copy folder to DVD

D

Dan Drewry

If I should ask this someplace else, please tell me where.

I want to use a DVD to back up a folder that's too big for a CD. I first
initialized the DVD on my DVD player, and it has two folders on it -
VIDEO-RM and VIDEO-TS. It claims to have no space available and only
32.2 MB of total space. (File system UDF).

Then I erased the disk and now it says it has NO space available.
In either case, when I try to copy a folder onto it using drag & drop,
it says it is either not a writeable disk or it is full.

What's my problem here? (Windows XP Pro)

I'd ask in one of the Windows XP groups. This one's for MS Office issues.

I'd start with a new DVD blank and, personal prejudice, I wouldn't waste
time or money on rewriteable DVDs. Life's short, blanks are cheap and two
backups are better than the one you just erased, oops. <g>

The title shown for this newsgroup is "m.p.o...misc". I had no idea what
that stood for. And I did ask if there was a better place to ask. And
did you tell me?

Newsgroups: microsoft.public.office.misc

Thunderbird's really truncating the newsgroup name that badly?
