Can't copy-n-paste graphics into Word

WIN-98: When I'm on the web site, I try to highlight a
small section of page (containing text and graphics), I
then "copy".
I then go to Word and try to "paste", but the
message "There Is Insufficient Memory or Disk Space"
appears.

I have plenty of RAM and HD space, and this happens even
if I try a mere 20k size.

(My WIN2000 laptop does not have this problem).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In Windows 98 that error message can occur because of insufficient
"system resources". These are memory blocks used to hold graphic items
and other things. The design of Windows 98 limits you to 64K of space
for these things, no matter how much memory you have. Windows 2000
does not suffer from this problem.

You could try using the system monitor to see whether that is indeed
the problem. If it is, you might be able to close extra windows to
free some space, or get rid of various background processes that eat
resources, or reboot.
