Can't copy/paste excel chart

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Nothing happens when I try to copy/paste an Excel 2008 chart into PowerPoint 2008 or Word 2008. Excel 2008 to Excel 2008 works just fine.

Thanks!

Hi,

Tested it to PowerPoint and it worked just fine:

1. Right-click the chart in Excel, choose Copy
2. Switch to PowerPoint
3. Right-click a blank slide and choose Paste

What is your exact update level of Office and OS X?

Also -- it may seem silly to ask re copy/paste :) -- but describe exactly
what steps you're taking. Once you've copied go to a Finder window & select
Show Clipboard from the Edit menu - what is there?

I click within the chart (but not in the graph) to highlight the chart. Right click, copy. Click within the powerpoint frame. Right click, paste. Nothing happens. Also have tried Control+C and Control+V.

Once you've copied go to a Finder window & select
Show Clipboard from the Edit menu - what is there?

The chart I am hoping to paste!! This is baffling.

Thanks for your help.

Well, it appears that OS X & Office are fully updated. What happens if you
select the Paste command from the Edit menu?

Try running Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions, restart your Mac & see
if that's enough to resolve the problem. If not try the following tests
individually:

1- Launch Excel while holding Shift, then try the copy/paste.

2- Try copy/paste in a new/different User Account.

3- Log out then Log In while holding Shift, then try teh copy/paste
operations.

Reply with detail on the results of each of the three tests.
