Can't create a new .pst file

Using Outlook 2003. When I click on File/New/Outlook Data File, the dialog
box under "Types of storage" is blank, and the only option I have is cancel.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I am trying to split my .pst file into 2 or more files. I already have an
archive .pst file.

Try doing a repair on Office. If that doesn't work try it with a new mail
profile.

Well, I repaired Office but that didn't help. Then I tried to create a new
mail profile. When I selected "Add" for a new profile, I got this message:
"There was an error locating one of the items needed to complete this
operation. It might have been deleted."

Last file I had beta tested Office 2007. From some web searching, it looks
like that might have caused this problem?

Try doing a repair on Office. If that doesn't work try it with a new mail
profile.

Quite likely. Locate MSMAPI32.dll and rename it to .old. Then run a repair
on Office 2003 again.

I found 2 instances of MSMAPI32.dll - one in Program Files/Common
Files/System/MAPI and the other in I386. I renamed both to MSMAPI32.dll.old.
Re-ran a repair of Office 2003. I still can't create a new Outlook Data
File or add a new mail profile.

Any more suggestions?

Quite likely. Locate MSMAPI32.dll and rename it to .old. Then run a repair
on Office 2003 again.

Actually, one more bit of information. In the Program Files/Common Files,
etc. place, there are now 2 files - MSMAPI32.dll and MSMAPI32.dll.old - both
dated 11/10/05. So a new one was created after I renamed the original
(although I don't understand why the create date didn't change). I then
tried deleting the one named .old, and again renaming the other one by adding
..old, and then re-running the Office 2003 Repair. There is still a file
without the .old suffix.
