Hello, per Steve's suggestion (see below), I was able to
link two subforms successfully.
TicketRef.
However, now I am unable to create a "New Record" using
the subformHelpDesk2 form (which displays the details.
When I select the "New Record" button I created using the
wizard or use the Navigation bar, it automatically
refreshes the screen to display the selected record from
subformHelpdesk1! I understand what it's doing but can't
figure out how to get a new record created yet maintain
the functionality from Steve's message.
Thank you for your help.

main form, and set its Control Source property to:Try it like this... Put a hidden, unbound textbox on the
the LinkMasterFields property of subformHelpDesk2 to=[subformHelpDesk1].Form![TicketNumber]
Let's say you name this textbox TicketRef. So then, set
TicketRef.
