Can't create signature

L

Lee

When clicking Tools-Options-Mail Format, the"Signatures," "Stationery and
Fonts" and "Editor Options" buttons don't work. Nothing happens when I click
them. Also, I don't see the "use Word to edit emails" option that I had with
my old computer.

I am using Office 2007. Any help?

Outlook 2007 uses a new email editor that is based on Word. There is no
longer a choice for an editor.

Are these button grayed out or are they active but do not respond when you
click on them?
Did you already activate your version of Outlook?
Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

The buttons are not grayed out. They appear to be active but don't respond
when clicked. When you ask 'did you activate Outlook?' - I've been using
Outlook for a couple of weeks, no problem. Except when I went to create a
Signature - no luck. I'm a bit unsure of starting up in 'safe' mode. Afraid
it won't return to normal (wary of technology I guess). Other thoughts? And
Thanks!

Safe Mode is ok to use. After closing Outlook and starting it again via the
regular shortcut it will start normally again.

I had the same problem. I booted up Outlook in safe mode and I was able to
finally get the signature button to work. Now what do I do to get the
signature button to work in regular mode?

Thanks,
David

Hi there! I also cannot access the Signatures, Stationery, or Editor options
in Microsoft Outlook 2007. I've tried to open Safe Mode as well to no avail.
The buttons are there, not greyed out, clickable, but do nothing. No error
message and the options window can be closed and Outlook continues to
function as normal.

A couple of tidbits that I'm hopeful an expert can figure this out with:

- MS Office Ultimate 2007 SP1
- Windows XP Professional SP3
- I have two profiles, Outlook asks which to load by my request at startup.
(This issue happens on both profiles)
- Both contain Exchange accounts
- I have McAfee Enterprise Virus Scan 8.5i
- Adobe Acrobat 7 which adds a "Create PDF" plugin in Outlook (which is
disabled in Safe Mode)

Thank you!
