Jon Wilson

we are using Project Serer 2003 and have one project plan that can't be
deleted

when I try to delete it from PWA Clean up Project Server Database i get "an
error occured while compleating this operation" and the file is still there

when I use the PSCleaner tool I get "Calling ProjectsDelete...
Failed to delete Project NH_Blue_Technical_REPLAN.Published. PDS Error
Description : rsExceptionMain"

anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

do I try to delete it in SQL and if so how?

thanks

Hi Jon,

It seems to be project deletion not carried out completely. You can
try this
alternative solution to delete the project.

Use ODBC option to open the project plan and delete the plan.

*****************************************************************
Steps to delete the project plan by using ODBC:

1) Create the system DSN (machine data source pointing to
ProjectServer Database).

2) Launch project professional by connecting to Project Server account

3) File menu -> Open -> Open from File -> click on ODBC button

4) Select the DSN created on step 1. (Enter username and password used
on creation of DSN)

You will see all the project plans from project server

5) Select the plan that you want to delete and click X to delete the
plan

***************************************************************

If you didn't see the project on ODBC option, you have to use the SQL
option to delete the plan. Be careful here, project plan data resides
on multiple tables. You have to delete the plan from all those tables.

If you need any help here, please let me know.

Thanks
