Can't Delete a Virus File

D

Dan Bair

Hi;

This question probably belongs somewhere else, but I just
got a new update from Norton Anti-virus and it keeps
flaging a file "WINNT\System32\ctrlpan.dll Norton
antivirus can't quaranteen it or delete it.

When I try to delete the file, I get the message:
"Can't delete ctrlpan Access is denied" And then
something about the file might be write protected or in
use by something else. How can I get rid of this file?

Thanks,
Dan

Ask in a group for your operating system - this group only handles Microsoft
Office related questions. You might also want to query Symantec Support for
this.
