Can't delete backup copy of document - or the original

My boss frequently loses or saves-over Word documents. I found the
instructions to automatically create a backup copy, and then created some
junk documents in order to test it to be sure it worked the way I thought it
would. That part was fine, but now I can't delete the test documents. I get
the message "cannot delete XXX file - it is being used by another person or
program" but it isn't. I have closed all my word documents and also checked
his PC and no Word documents are open.

Tell him to send himself on a training course to learn how to use Word
properly!

As for the immediate problem - see

It would be better if you could show him how to use templates to create new
documents, rather than edit old ones, which is frequently a recipe for
disaster even in experienced hands.
