Can't delete certain newsgroup messages

I just created an Entourage custom view. It works as expected, however it's
finding some messages that I can't remove. I've tried the normal approach
for deleting, but they won't go away.

When I select/delete they don't move to the Deleted Items folder. Other
messages in the custom view delete as expected. Perplexed.

The view's "folder column" reveals that the messages all exist in a folder
entitled alt.music.rec ... odd though, I don't see that folder in the
folders list inside On My Computer, nor was I aware that such a folder ever
existed. And I don't see it the Find/Criteria folder popup list.

Not sure how to search and/or find it ...

If I locate this folder, can I delete it and all contents in one fell swoop?

Thanks!

Looking forward to the Office upgrade ... been a loooog time.

These are newsgroup messages, not mail messages. Newsgroups are listed in
the folder list underneath your news server, which should be located very
near the bottom of the folder pane, just above Custom Views.

See above.

Yes, indeed. Control-click on the newsgroup's server in the folder pane and
you will see an option, "Empty Cache". Select that option, and it will
delete ALL entries for newsgroups that are part of that server.

Yes, it has been. It will be nice to have a universal binary version, for
one thing (which has been promised), that loads and executes quickly on
Intel machines.

Thank you! That worked.

Have to admit, I was a little nervous when Ehntourage launched into its
uncancellable delete frenzy, without offering ANY explanation of its intent.

I thought I'd lose all my Entourage, FileMaker, ApppleScript
correspondances, but they still exist -- perhaps because they are mail as
opposed to links?
