Can't delete Microsoft Word documents

I can't delete microsoft word documents and whenever I try it freezes
my computer up forcing me to turn it off. The computer also freezes
when I close and save a document and when I open iternet explorer.
I've tried renaming them and making changes to the document but
nothing seems to work.

I suggest posting this to a relevant Windows Newsgroup as it is unlikely to
be a Word problem.
