cant delete outgoing mail

i have attached too many photos to an e-mail and everytime
i open ms outlook express, it's sending the e-mail and
takes forever to use the e-mail. when i try to delete the
outgoing mail (from outbox) it won't allow me to delete it)
i tried unplugging the ethernet plug, rebooting computer,
using control a and delete, and hitting the delete button,
but none of this works,) as a last result, i think i have
to delete the outbox through ms explorer and reinstall it.
any suggestions?
