Cant delete paragraph??

A

Allan

Being the companys Word-guru I tried helping a colleague who works on a
document in Word 2000. The document consists of four pages where each page
has two columns. The page that she wants to be that final one ends at the
bottom of the right column, i.e. at the end of this particlar page.

At this point there is a section break next page. The next page has contains
nothing but two paragraph signs, and the question is now how to delete these
paragraph signs in order to delete the page. It sounds easy but I tried
everything but begging, and nothing helps :-(

I should say, that almost at the very beginning of the document a continuous
section break is placed, and I tried also to delete that, but even after I
deleted it the document indicates that at this particular point, it shifts
from section 1 to section 2? I tried using the replace function to locate
this invisible section break, but nothing shows up?? And of course when I
delete the section break next page at the end of the document, all
two-column pages are changed to one-column, but at least this I understand
since the section break only influences the things before the section break
is inserted.

Is there somebody out there who can help me regain my status as the
Word-guy???

Kind regards

Allan

try to copy the text into a fresh new document so that
there is no formatting done already. then split it into
two columns.

might work

If the entire document is in two columns, delete both section breaks and
then apply the columns setting again. Alternatively, you can delete all but
one paragraph mark on the last page and format that one as Hidden.
