MS Project Server 2003 SP-1

Happy Friday to all,

We are receiving a VBScript error (Request Status: 106) when attempting to
delete a Resource in "Clean up Project Server database".

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

This error is cause by the resource noy being checked out. Be sure that you
can check this resource out manually and then try again.

rsResGlobalNotCheckedout = 106

hope this helps.

Ray,

Thank you for the response. The Resources we are attempting to delete do
not exist in the global resource pool. They were created automatically when
PM(s) published several enterprise projects containing local resources (we
have since disabled the automatic creation of user accounts in PWA). We are
now attempting to delete the unwanted Resources and cannot do so because of
the error.

Other ideas?

Thanks again...

Jay:

If these "accounts" were created through the publish process, then they
haven't been added to your resource pool, they simply have logon accounts.
This is why you can't delete them from the resource pool. You can simply
deactivate these accounts through Project Web Access, Manage Users and
Groups.

Hi Gary,

Yes, the "accounts" were created as a result of publishing projects in
conjunction with auto creation accounts set to Accept (we have since disabled
the automatic creation of user accounts by setting to Deny). The unneeded
"accounts" are not in the global resource pool.

OK, deactivating unneeded accounts certainly makes sense; however, no
administrative function exists to delete them...are we saying the only way to
remove them is via SQL ?

Thanks,
Jay

Jay:

One technique you can use is to merge them into each other until you only
have one left. Otherwise, SQL is the answer.
