Can't delete unread emails message from XP log-in

I have no unread emails but the Windows XP log-in keeps saying that I have 1
unread email. I have checked each folder in Outlook but no messages are
outstanding. I have also tried using the detect and repair command in
Outlook with no luck. Any suggestions?
